HOUSTON (January 7, 2026) — The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Legacy Directional Drilling a U.S. Patent, covering a drilling motor thrust bearing assembly with both internal and external bend angles. This dual-bend configuration enables the bend plane to be positioned closer to the drill bit, resulting in higher build rates, improved directional response, and reduced mechanical stress on motor bearings.
Designed for directional and horizontal drilling applications, the patented system enhances tool longevity and operational efficiency while maintaining robust downhole performance.
