HOUSTON (September 29, 2026) — Legacy Directional has expanded its drilling motor portfolio with the introduction of the new Legacy RSS Motor line, engineered specifically for rotary steerable applications.
Available in RSS 550, RSS 663 and RSS 725 sizes, all three motors feature an increased bearing stack designed to provide up to 50% greater weight-on-bit (WOB) capabilities, along with improved durability and run life for extended-reach laterals and demanding drilling environments.
The RSS 550 includes additional design enhancements, including a flow restrictor bearing to help reduce fluid loss for RSS systems and new external housing connections that provide greater strength and higher torque ratings.
The new RSS Motor line combines Legacy’s motor design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities with its extensive rotary steerable experience to deliver reliable performance for today’s demanding RSS applications.
