Field Operations
Comprehensive Training:
All Legacy MWD field engineers undergo a comprehensive week-long “MWD Training class.” This intensive program covers essential MWD theory, practical application of building and testing tools for field use, as well as familiarization with Legacy Directional Drilling (LDD) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices for MWD tools. With this training, our field engineers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles.
Pre-Run Checks:
Prior to deployment, every MWD tool undergoes a thorough pre-run check process. This formal procedure documents all relevant MWD tests and checks, ensuring that each tool meets our stringent quality standards. With oversight from our 24-hour RTOC, we virtually eliminate finger fault errors and ensure that SOPs are followed meticulously before any MWD tool is used downhole. This proactive approach helps mitigate risks and enhances the reliability of our operations.
Field Support Specialists/Coordinators:
To provide additional support and expertise, Legacy employs two roving MWD Field Support Specialists/Coordinators. These specialists are available to assist with pre-job setup for new clients or complex projects, as well as to respond promptly to any downhole issues that may arise. With their hands-on experience and dedication to customer satisfaction, our specialists ensure that our clients receive the highest level of service and support.
Legacy 24-Hour RTOC:
Our state-of-the-art Real-Time Operations Center (RTOC) operates round-the-clock to support our field operations. With the ability to hold day or night tours remotely, we offer flexibility while reducing the need for additional field staff on location, as preferred by our clients. Our RTOC experts are adept at troubleshooting, performing pre-run checks, and conducting quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on data. With expertise in surface systems, connectivity, and WITS data feeds, our RTOC team ensures seamless communication and data integrity throughout the drilling process.
